Literacy Planet

Literacy Planet, much like Maths-whizz, is a learning platform to everyone. This site focuses on teaching year levels from 1-12. Teaching them in various ways, from spelling out what they hear, to sharing infographics to teach students. Overall, it's a good site with creative ways of teaching students and keeping them engaged. On my opinion, Literacy Plantet's various teaching ways keeps my captivated to learn more, as well as being rewarded with the site-currency.

Attitude Talk

Today, two kind men named Robbie and Charlie came to our school to give all the Team 5 boys an attitude talk in the hall! We had learnt how each person is unique, and how we shouldn't feel or try to act like others to fit in. Robby and Charlie also explained how each of us can do the same thing, in different ways. They were also kind enough to talk to us about changes in are system so we could adapt to it. Overall, these two helpful men gave us a talk so we could be prepared in the future :)

Why Pt England school is an important part of our community.

Why Pt England school is an important part of our community.

Introduction:

The importance of school…

What moulds our personality.

Where we make our friends.

 What decides our future.

It’s one of the most important places in communities.

I mean, without it, where would you be now?

Learning Perspective:

Most start school at a very young age. Meaning you wouldn’t know many things. Learning is essential in life, it’s what brought humans to where we are now, sharing ideas, sharing our knowledge, and teaching the next generation so they know more than us, therefore improving our species.

At a young age, you don’t have a fully developed personality, but near other people, whether friends or bullies, they can help mould your personality.

As you get older, and travel to the next school, you’ll find that most schools offer various subjects, not just ranging from literacy to maths, but from more unique subjects such as art, music, culture, coding, engineering etc.

In exploring more subjects, you’ll surely find something you love. This makes you want to learn more about it, makes you improve on it, and sooner or later, you have your dream career.

Mental Perspective:

Schools are most likely the first place you meet others apart from your family. This is where you’ll meet your friends, and even bullies.

However, this forms your personality. You’ll know what kind of people you like, what kind of people you dislike, what kind of person you want to be, and you may even find a role-model to you.

Some schools can also be of help with your religion and culture.
Some schools encourage your beliefs, as well as sharing knowledge of what your religion knows. This helps you understand more, and gives you an explanation of certain things in life.

The same applies for culture. If you’re at a good school, schools will encourage your culture. They’ll teach you things about it, such as traditions, beliefs and more.
As you grow older into your late teens, and enter the more complex schools, it’s likely that you might even find a love interest.

Whether your soul-mate or not, it’s nice to have one.

Future Impact:

So, you’re an adult now.

After all this time, the friends you’ve made, the events you’ve partaken. The ideas you’ve achieved, and the inspirations you’ve left.

You’ll be older, you’ll have a job. In the community, you might even have some friends you made as a child. School may have helped you with that. You may even have your dream career, School may have helped you with that. School would've helped you with a lot of things.

Conclusion:

After so many years, you’re an adult now. And you would have many friends, a job, and perhaps even a love. School would have a massive effect on all of these.

So, now you ponder the question “Why School is an important part of our community?”. Well, in the community, as an adult, it’s important because now, you’re you. School has helped mould what is you, after all this, your achievements, your graduation, in the end, it’s why you’re here today, it’s why you’re the amazing person you are now!

So, in conclusion, school helps your role in the community, because school has made what’s you, you.

Guy Fawkes Night

 Guy Fawkes

Guy Fawkes is a day we celebrate by launching Fire-works to the sky. But why? Well, today, I'm going to explain the What, When, Who, Where and Why of Guy Fawkes.

The name comes from a person who tried to assassinate King. In London, City of West-minister, 1605, he and his group planned to explode the home of the King, this was called the "Gunpowder Plot from 1605". In the end, Guy Fawkes and his plan had failed when he had been caught guarding explosives. We celebrate this day with Fire-works, due to the failure of the "Gunpowder Plot", and it's named "Guy Fawkes", in the defeat of the assassins.

PEEL Structure Example

Explanation

How Can the Snoozatron Help You Sleep?

When Wallace is struggling to sleep, he activates his ‘Snoozatron’ device. This remarkable contraption will help any insomniac inventor return swiftly to the land of nod. Would you like to know how it works? Then read on…

Auto-Comfy Bed

How It Works

Finding that he’s wide awake in the middle of the night, Wallace pulls the big, red lever (next to his bed) that activates the machine; immediately, an alarm rings in Gromit’s bedroom. As a result, his faithful assistant wakes up, retrieves a sheep costume from the wardrobe where it’s kept and puts it on.

Meanwhile, back in Wallace’s room, several mechanisms spring into action: giant mechanical hands – covered in soft fabric – bounce out from under his bed, re-tucking his covers; two huge leather pads appear and begin to push and plump the pillows from both sides (see illustration), before both devices disappear again. A pair of pincers then swings down and deposits a cosy hot water bottle on Wallace’s lap. This is accompanied by another arm, which passes him his favourite teddy bear. As a consequence of all these events, Wallace starts to feel warm and comfortable again. At the same time, the picture on the wall nearby folds down to reveal a record player, which

subsequently begins to play soothing music. Additionally, the sound of lambs bleating can be heard.

At this point, Gromit is sleepily waiting in the kitchen, with a cup of tea, because he knows he’ll soon be called to action. A hatch drops open above him and Wallace calls down, “Ready Gromit!” Gromit sighs. Wearily, he steps back onto a circular platform, which is in turn mounted on a massive spring. Suddenly, he is catapulted through the hatch into Wallace’s room and up past the end of the bed, before falling back and rebounding on the platform.

This final process is repeated over and over. Every time ‘Gromit the sheep’ appears, Wallace counts: “One, two, three…” until he starts to feel sleepy again - the

Snoozatron can reliably bounce Gromit up to 9999 times!

From The Depths Of Your Nightmares - The Fantastically Disturbing Creepy Art Of Trevor Henderson

Art Details:

Name: Unknown

Artist: Trevor Henderson

My Depiction:

(A man heading to a Power Plant to regenerate the pylons, however, encounters a paranormal

event in the process)

“I swear, if another animal got into the plant, I’m quitting this damn job!”

I drove toward the power plant, hoping to fix it soon to get back home for dinner.

“I don’t get paid enough for this crap, this has got to be the fifth time it’s happened this week!”

As I headed closer, I felt a disturbing feeling in my head, painful, but tolerable.

I thought it was a temporary pain in my head, but it worsened as I approached the Power Plant.

“Ah c’mon! Not on the job!- I need to get medicine for that-” I ended up brushing it off as a headache.

I entered the Plant, and headed for the generator to find any damage.
“Nothing seems wrong, I’ll just give it an ol’ reset-”

I headed for the switch, but the ground rumbled and took me off my feet before I could do so.
The towers shook and collapsed, so I darted back to the car.
“OH SH-"
I said, as I panicked. “THOSE DAMN CROOKS SHOULD’VE WARNED IT-

COULD’VE BEEN AN EARTHQUAKE!”

I got into the car and stomped on the pedal, the trees and towers behind, collapsed before me.

I thought I was about to get to a safe area., but the pain in my head suddenly doubled.
“AHH-” I groaned. I struggled staying on the road, and it wasn’t helping that there were still trees

falling everywhere. I looked to my right as I was about to turn, but I saw a shadow stalking above the trees.

I passed it off as a hallucination, perhaps caused by the same thing as my headache.

“...surely it couldn’t be real, I’m driving at about 144 mph.“ I said to myself.
And as I had hoped, the figure suddenly disappeared.
“...I really need to see a doctor”
I thought I was finally in the clear, but I large rumble said otherwise.
“”OH, NOT AGAIN!“

I drove as fast as I could, but I halted to a stop at the sight of something unexplainable.
My headache soon felt unbearable, and I passed out in the car.

Makey Makey with "Laser Man"

In case anyone was wondering, these are the Makey Makey keys I made and used to play!
This included some 50-cent coins for the arrow keys/movement buttons, and a pair of scissors for the action button (the shooting button)
The only bad part is that the "Earth" detector has to be attached to my thumb which is painful ;-;
Other than that, it was really fun having my own customised keyboard!
So if you can, one day you should try using Makey Makey! Maybe even make your own controller! ^^

Anyways-
Have a nice day amazing viewer! ^^

Why Shovel Knight should be able to use washing machines in The Backrooms

Classification

Shovel Knight is known for exploring the depths of The Backrooms, however, surely his suit would get dirty, so today, I’m going to explain why I think it should be Okay for Shovel Knight to wash his armour in The Backrooms.

Why?

His armour would obviously get dirty, whilst fending off all those knights and entities. However, many people disagree that he should be allowed to use a washing machine on his suit of Armour, due to the fact that metal plates would damage the Washing Machine, as well as the Armour getting rusty, right?

However, here’s how I tackle that problem. My first solution, If you think he shouldn’t use a Washing Machine, you’re forgetting he’s in The Backrooms! Washing Machines there, are able to fit houses! They can also certainly withstand Shovel Knight’s armour, as the insides are coated with a thick layer of smooth titanium, making it viable to even wash dragon scales! My second, the special liquid produced from the Washing Machine is also able to wash metal without it rusting.

Example?

Recently, the “Level 0 Mystery-Solvers” had reported a new anomaly. Two members of the colony had been researching Level-0 (Atlas and Noah), in hopes of any coordinated way of getting back to reality. They had unintentionally stumbled upon the discovery of a Washing-Machine. Noah had noticed that the Washing Machine was unusually large at a distance. (Of course, that wouldn’t be so surprising in The Backrooms). As they approached the anomaly, they had realized that the Washing Machine scaled to the size of a house! With this information, they quickly charted it down, and sent the discovery to The Level 0 Mystery-Solvers. Once they had received contact from another member, they were told to examine the properties inside of the Washing Machine. Atlas went inside whilst Noah documented what Atlas could see. The problem was, Atlas wasn’t able to see anything. Noah noticed a flashing-light on the Washing Machine, he wanted to press it, but was worried it may cause unwanted events, knowing the strange properties of The Backrooms. He had told Atlas to step out, once Atlas was out, Noah pressed the Button. Suddenly, the inside of The Washing Machine burst with light, Atlas peeked inside, seeing an endless, cylinder-like corridor, coated with metallic walls. They noted that the inside of The Washing Machine was larger than the outside.

Conclusion?

I hope I have explained why I think Shovel Knight should be able to wash his armour in a Backrooms-Washing Machine. So, unless you’re fighting dozens of knights and entities, think twice before you think you can judge whether someone can wash their armour.
